Ghana/England Tour set for 2012!

GRCC is delighted to announce it's 2012 international tour in which the Pro Arte and Cavalieri Choirs will travel to England and Ghana on a tour designed to touch on points of the historic slave trade triangle. Highlights will include cultural exchanges and will include performances at sites such as Liverpool Cathedral and Cape Coast Castle.

GRCC aims to tour every other year with our top choirs, alternating domestic and international travel. The children think of themselves as global citizens and the response we've gotten during our trips tells us our members are fantastic ambassadors representing themselves, the greater Richmond region and the United States. The members' experiences have a ripple effect on the children, their families, and their communities. It is GRCC's policy that no one is left at home because of an inability to pay. Generous gifts from the greater Richmond community, and from family and friends near and far, have made this possible in the past and these tours have been life changing experiences for the children.

GRCC is delighted to announce that an anonymous donor has pledged $10,000 in matching funds in our efforts to raise scholarship money for our 2012 England/Ghana Tour! Every gift we receive up to a total of $10,000 will be matched with a donation to the general scholarship fund by this generous donor.

GRCC is still enrolling members for the 2011-2012 season! We wil be holding another information session (7 pm) and auditions on Wed. July 27th at Grace & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 8 N. Laurel St. No audition is necessary for the entry level Treble Choir, but everyone is asked to attend an information session if possible. Please call to make an appointment, 804-201-1894. Accepting New Treble Choir Members!

We are accepting new members into our entry level Treble Choir for the second half of the year, and they may start on Dec. 14th if possible or on Jan. 4th. We meet at Grace & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:00 and the church is located at 8 N. Laurel St. right next to the Landmark Theater. Tuition for this time period would be $235 and clothing costs are $68 girls/$43 boys. Need-based scholarships are available. Students should be age 8 or up and no audition is necessary. Join us!

Winter News Update

On Nov. 2nd, GRCC's Pro Arte and Cavalieri sang live on an election day appearance on CBS 6 "Virginia This Morning." Thanks to everyone involved for making this a great experience!

GRCC provided the vocal sparkle at Richmond's Grand Illumination on Dec. 3rd.

On Dec. 5th, GRCC made a return appearance to Westminster Canterbury's Starlighting where once again we were warmly received.

Armenian Food Festival Sept. 16-19

During each of the four days of the Armenian Food Festival, members of all the GRCC choirs performed traditional Armenian music and dance, which was warmly greeted by the enthusiastic crowds. We are grateful to the members of St. James Armenian Church for all the hospitality and delicious food! And a big thank you to all our families as well for making these performances possible.
