Home practice preparation for Oct. 17 Performance and Oct. 19-20 Rehearsals

Please learn YOUR assigned part BEFORE you arrive at rehearsal.

Rehearsal time should be used to put the music together.

Learn the first four pages of "Hallelujah Chorus" with solfege & words - SA

Song of the Stars - Make knowing your part for this top priority this week!

We will rehearse this between 2:15 and 3:15 at First African Baptist on Saturday so be sure you also have this music with you.

Evening Prayer - Humperdinck - Be prepared to sing one on a part from memory.

Our only rehearsal with the RSO conductor before we get with the orchestra has now been set for Tuesday, October 20, 6:15-7:45 p.m. at Grace & Holy Trinity. We will audition soloists and rehearse together Evening Prayer and Song of the Stars.

Wade in the Water - Altos practice clapping. Mezzos secure intonation on oohs. We will sing this a little slower than we did at camp, but it still needs lots of energy!

 

Cantare Choir

Prayer of Desmond Tutu - PA -SA; Cav-TB - TOP PRIORITY!  Know parts & memorize. Please put extra work into learning your part solidly at the end on the text: "Through Him who loved us." Thank you to Nyla Harris for being our soprano soloist!

Enter the back door from the parking lot behind the church off of W. Norwood Avenue between Hanes and Fendall Avenues.

All day workshop with Fisk University’s Dr. Paul Kwami, First African Baptist children and adult choirs, and Ebenezer Baptist adult choir.

-Bring a lunch, snack, and water bottle.

-Bring your music and two pencils.

-4:00 pm “Singing in the Spirit” Celebration of Music featuring the GRCC choirs and the First African Baptist and Ebenezer Baptist choirs. Invite your friends and family to this free event! (A free-will offering to support the program will be collected and much appreciated.)

 

Monday October 19th

Concert Choir – rehearse as usual, 4:30-6:15 pm.

Cavalieri – rehearsal time is 5:15-8:00 pm. Arrive wearing formal concert attire for formal photo to be taken beginning at 6:30.

Pro Arte – rehearsal time is 6:30-9:00 pm. Arrive wearing formal concert attire for formal photo to be taken beginning at 6:30.

 

Tuesday October 20th

Treble Choir - rehearse as usual, 4:30-6:00 pm
