Home practice for January rehearsals in preparation for All-Choir concert Jan. 27

Have "Gavotte" fully memorized.

Review "I Hear America Singing" to secure parts, especially top part.

Keep in your memory "All Praise to God" (review part on last phrase) and "Hashivenu".

Review Hello Songs, Peta kupa, and Kekeli.

Write in solfege and practice singing Vivaldi "Et Exultavit" in solfege. B-flat is "DO" - to be sung in March.

Cantare Choir - Rehearsal on Jan. 16 and mandatory rehearsal Jan. 23, 2017

Repertoire for Cantare Choir for January 27 GRCC Concert:

Be sure you have all new music! If you don't have one of these, call Mrs. Hope to get it as soon as possible.

Precious Lord- SATB division. Learn your part in solfege and with text. A-flat is "DO." There is a fantastic solo part on pages 6-7 for the Pro Arte member who learns it best. We will choose a soloist on Jan. 16. Anyone who would like a private lesson on it with Mrs. Hope should arrange for it with Mrs. Hope the week of Jan. 9th.

Epiphany 136- O Wondrous Type - verse 1 Pro Arte, verse 2 Cavalieri, verse 3 All. This plainchant is much trickier than it looks in order to get words and notes together and memorized. Should have been memorized for Jan. 8 concert.

Continue to review the following: Peck Kyrie, Mi Chamocha, O How Amiable, Hello Songs, Peta kupa, Kekeli

Pro Arte: Edelweiss - Learn in solfege and with text. B-flat is "DO." Use this 3-part division:

Top: Lily, Dominique, Grace, Samantha Middle: Katherine, Nina, Sharita, Faith Bottom: Meaghan, Lauren, Sarabeth, Naomi

Let It Shine! Pages 2-8 sopranos sing part 1, altos sing part 2. Pages 9 -11 divide in 3 parts as listed above. Page 12 All sing "Gonna let it shine!" both times. This is tricky because it is a familiar song from the folk tradition, so every arrangement is slightly different from another. Learn written notes and rhythms carefully! Should have been memorized for 1/8 concert.

Keep "Adam lay Ybounden" in your memory.

Cavalieri: A Tree Toad - Sing down the octave and divide into TB where indicated.  Learn in solfege and with text. E-flat is "DO." Observe all dynamics and articulations.

Magnificat Movement #4 - solo sung by all tenors and basses - Practice with beautiful tone and vowel sounds.

Keep "Lina Avatara" in your memory.

Thank you to Meaghan, Lauren, Faith, Brock, Emmett, Xander, and Chip for attending the extra rehearsal on Dec. 18!

Treble Choir - Rehearsals Jan. 17 & mandatory rehearsal Jan. 24

Concentrate on learning "A Windy Story" for the Jan. 27 concert.

Review I Hear America Singing, Hello Songs, Peta kupa, and Kekeli. Sing from memory.

Practice 23rd Psalm in solfege and with words. F is "DO".

"Amazing Grace" We have made cuts to this arrangement: Sing in unison pages 4 through top of 6. At the end of measure 35 cut to measure 52 at the bottom of page 7 "When we've been there...." Stop at the bottom of page 8. 23rd Psalm and "Amazing Grace" to be learned for March performance.
